SJPDA Bargaining Bulletin #1

Dear Members,
We are at the negotiating table!
Our team, which includes our consultant and legal counsel, has held two sessions with the City to work toward delivering a Tentative Agreement worthy of member ratification. We have spent several months preparing for these negotiations so that we can vigorously advocate for improved wages, benefits, working conditions and legal rights.
We are appreciative of every member who took the time to respond to our recent survey. The results contained valuable information that we will utilize as negotiations continue. Thus far, neither side has passed any substantive proposals, which will commence at our next session, and any formal written proposals will be posted by the City on its Employee Relations website.
Contract negotiations are a confidential process; we will report out to you what we are able to so as to ensure that confidentiality is preserved. We caution you to not entertain any gossip about what some may think is actually transpiring at the negotiating table and to trust that the SJPDA board and negotiating team will fight on your behalf.
More to come. Oh, by the way, the winners of our Visa gift card raffle for members who participated in our survey were:
$25 - Alfredo Enciso
$50 - Hanlin Raintree
$100 - Sheri Troia
In Solidarity,
Mary and the Board
